Message from the Dean
Welcome to the College of Business, Public Policy and Law's website. The College comprises the School of Law, the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics, Shannon College of Hotel Management, the Whitaker Institute and the Institute for Lifecourse and Society.
Through our teaching both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and our research in a number of strategically important areas we endeavour to produce graduates who will shape the future along with addressing key public policy questions of the day.
Driven by Research
Staff and postgraduate students are engaged in a wide range of research in Business, Public Policy and Law. The research is supported in the main by two research institutes. The Whitaker Institute researching innovation and change and the Institute for Lifecourse and Society focusing on the Applied Social Sciences.
The College also has a range of research programmes from Masters to Phd level.
The College of Business, Public Policy & Law welcomes students from around the globe. International candidates are encouraged to enrol in one of our undergraduate or postgraduate programmes. As an international student, you will have the opportunity to study with leading scholars and researchers investigating the key global issues in business, policy and, law.
The College has partnerships with over 75 international universities, which affords the opportunity for NUI Galway students to immerse themselves in the host county's culture, while participating in academic studies. Similarly, students from our partner universities come to NUI Galway to expand their horizons and develop new skills, commensurate with being globally competent candidates.
